The Y&R pre-nominations shock me more than OLTL's. Where are Braeden and Scott? Scott usually gets pissed on when it comes to the Emmys, so I'm not too surprised that she's nowhere to be found, but not giving Braeden a pre-nom? That's crazy! He did such great work this year with Sabrina's death and the aftermath. I'm not saying that Bergman and LeBlanc don't deserve their places, because they do, but that's just crazy. I think Y&R should've submitted three in the Lead Actor category. Did the Emmys do away with that rule? Wasn't that how it was last year?

I would have replaced Heinle with Nia Peeples. Frantz did well this year, so I could see why she's there. She may be annoying, but she's naturally annoying. She's playing a character that sould be annoying and she plays her very well.

Chapman shouldn't be nominated in either lead or supoorting catagory. Loved her as Ginny on GH and Natalie on ATWT but she's been a overacting mess during her whole Y&R tenure

As far as cancelling GL goes, it's about time. The show hasn't been the same since EP Lucy Rittenberg retired from the show in 1976. The final nail in GL's coffin was losing Beverlee McKinsey as Alex #1 and foolishly firing the late great Micheal Zaslow as Roger Thorpe. I give ATWT about another three years at the most. No doubt that bitch Barbara Bloom will find a way to blame Nuke fans for the show's downfall when in reality proper handling of the Nuke storyline could have actually put ATWT at number one in the ratings!!!!

Stafford must have steam coming from her ears.
Just the vision of that makes me laugh..... :D

Those Emmy people must be on some serious hardcore drugs or something.....

NATAS (the "Emmy people") don't pick the pre-noms. The shows themselves pick their own pre-noms.
I didn't know that..... :$

After reading Alvin's post I'm confused.....

From what I can tell, those just seem to be the deadlines to submit pre-noms. OLTL/Y&R could have already submitted theirs.

But the ballots for the pre-nom process to begin is supposed to start on February 2nd, and they haven't been sent out yet. I don't understand how they went through the process if ballots weren't sent out.

Yeah, according to the Daytime Emmy Calender the in studio voting hasn't officially started. How can two shows have their pre-noms if they don't have the ballots to vote yet?

Maybe TIIC already decided who is getting on the pre nom lists? Didn't GH's producers decide the pre noms a few years ago without doing ballots?

probably and i'm sure GH's centered on maybe all of the 6 characters they were using at the time.

That's against the rules in the Daytime Emmy Rulebook. It states that an in-house voting process must be done, and there must be proof of it, hence the ballots.

Even though I knew it was inevitable it makes me really sad to know Guiding Light will be gone soon. That was the first soap I started watching and to see yet another soap bite the dust is disconcerting. I am glad ATWT will probably be spared this round. Here hoping there is a miracle and the soaps have some sort of resurgence sooner than later.
I don't believe I've ever watched a single episode of GL and it saddens me to think it will be cancelled.

Eventually, soaps will go the way of the dodo bird. :frownie:
